Things To Do In Munich: BMW Welt

BMW Welt is a multi-functional customer experience and exhibition facility for BMWs and is located in Munich, Germany. It is located in direct proximity to the BMW Headquarters and is designed to showcase the current products of BMW, act as a distribution center for BMW cars, and to offer an event forum and a conference center.

The building was originally designed by architects Coop Himmelblau for the BMW Group and was construction began August 2003, and was completed four grueling years later in the summer of 2007. The BMW Welt opened October 17th of 2007 (right after Oktoberfest) and deliveries of vehicles began October 23rd 2007. Jonathan Spira was the first to take delivery of a vehicle at the new facility.

The building is known as being a modern architecture marvel including an 800 kilowatt solar plant on the roof. It doesn’t simply look like a function hall. It’s an incredible place that is a must visit for any automobile enthusiast in Munich Germany.

The BMW Welt facility in Munich operates in co-operation with other local BMW facilities, particularly the BMW Museum and BMW Headquarters.

The focus of BMW Welt is to strengthen the dialogue with customers by showing a wide range of their cars and motorcycles, providing distribution of vehicles and particularly the creation of a unique special experience with regards to picking up a special order vehicle. In the building there are conference rooms, and a gastronomic restaurant.
